Cover Letter tips that get ignored

8/10/2015

I don't know about you, but I think applying for jobs is a full-time job. It's especially scary if you're a recent AmeriCorps Alum. Whether it's finding the time to really focus on finding your dream job, or getting a headache trying to organize all your experience on a page, the job hunting process is exhausting.

Did you know the AmeriCorps Alum's website has an "Ask a Career Coach" blog? I didn't for the longest time and wish I had learned about it sooner. Remember that we Alum need to stick together in this whole "following our passion" path.

This particular article, taken from the blog page, focuses on tips that get ignored when doing your cover letter. Don't have a cover letter? Get one. It's like icing on the cake and gives you the chance to explain to the employer why you really want the gig. Remember though, keep it focused, not too short, but not too long, and don't have any spelling or grammatical errors. Happy writing!
